Biography

Dr. Kathleen Dorris completed her pediatric residency at the McGaw Medical Center at Children’s Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University and completed her fellowships in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and Pediatric Neuro-Oncology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Colorado School of Medicine and an attending physician in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO). She is a member of the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology and Experimental Therapeutics groups at CHCO. Dr. Dorris has an interest in clinical research in developmental therapeutics and pediatric neuro-oncology. She is currently an NCI K12 Paul Calabresi Career Development Award for Clinical Oncology Scholar. Presently, Dr. Dorris is CHCO’s principal investigator for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium (PBTC). She is the Clinical Trials in Neuro-Oncology Leader at CHCO; thus, she is the local principal investigator on numerous multi-institutional clinical trials and institutional investigator-initiated clinical trials. She is also leading several retrospective clinical research efforts, quality improvement projects and prospective observational studies involving children with brain and spinal tumors at CHCO. She is engaged in the teaching and mentorship of medical trainees at multiple levels of education and also functions as the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Fellowship Director at CHCO. Additionally, she has served as the Education Chair for the 2018 International Symposium on Pediatric Neuro-Oncology.
