Biography

Dr. Koschmann is a Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Michigan. The Koschmann laboratory studies the molecular mechanisms by which recurrent mutations in pediatric high-grade glioma (HGG) and diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) promote tumor formation and affect treatment response. Dr. Koschmann developed and co-facilitates the multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional UM CNS Precision Medicine Conference, in which precision medicine therapies are selected for pediatric brain tumor patients based on sequencing results and algorithms that predict blood-brain barrier penetration, such as the CNS-TAP Tool. Dr. Koschmann is the PI for multiple institutional clinical trials incorporating this approach, for which his lab is studying biologic correlates for precision medicine therapy response.
